Out of interest, did you dismantle the fitting itself (eg separate the front glass from the reflector / internal lens) ? If you got the unit apart, can you tell me how you did this? I can get the chrome surrounds off the headlight units but the font lenses (the glass that gets road chipped) seem to be cemented onto the body... if I can get the cement out I think I can replace it with engine silicone sealant OK (good for high temps too) but getting that outer lens off safely is the thing at the moment.

Now thinking maybe I'll experiment on the fogs first (not much need for them here in New Zealand)...
