I really hesitated getting a RF mod CD changer to work with my Alpine5 head unit, but didn't want to fork out the $500 for the BMW changer, and didn't want a new head unit which would not match the instrumentation.

But I took a chance and got the JVC X250RF for $200, and it works great. It holds 12 CDs, the changer fits nicely in the glovebox, the RF modulator and excess cables tuck above the glovebox, and I'd give the sound a solid A (A+ being a $1300 custom sound system.) I've mounted the control unit on velcro at edge of the center console at the parking brake lever, and although it's not the nice BMW red, it's small and discrete.

Just wanted to let ya'll know there's an option when your changer craps out.
Stu
