Good information. I had a feeling that the ABS might be a part of this issue. I wonder if there is another bleeder valve hidden somewhere.
No I diddnt start at the right rear...wasnt sure what I was thinking there.
Well, I know I do have ABS but not sure about ASC...(not ever sure what ACS is...) but I do know that the power steering is working fine.
Also, the rubber thumb screw that you can see on the black reservour (the one Ive labeled with issues) has what looks like an air slot built into the unit. Perhaps this is supposed to be a one way valve.

88 735i (176,000 miles)
The same exact thing happened to my 88 735I. One of my calipers started sticking so I decided to rebuild all four calipers, and convert the system to DOT-5 Silicon fluid. I think the reservoir was overfilled. According to my Bentley manual you should pump up the brakes until the fluid in the reservoir is within a 1/2 inch of the top of the reservoir. My brakes now work fine, but on a cold day the steering pump makes noise until warmed up.
