When I bought my '88 735 I replaced the KLM because the low beams would both cut out and stay off for extended periods. After the module was replaced, the drivers side would cut out for short periods. This was fixed was by replacing the socket that holds the bulb. Test this by turning on the lights in front of something that will reflect the beam (like a garage door) and jiggling the socket to see if you can replicate the fault. Replacements are available at any auto parts store for about a $1.99. Just cut the old one out and splice the new one in. Be sure to use water tight connectors.
Hope this helps, Jim
Can anyone help with this one? When I bought my 89 750il the headlights and taillights were rigged to bypass a bad light control module. This was accomplished by running a wire from one light to another. Needless to say I immediately removed the wires, replaced the light control module and replaced the mustard relay. Everything was fine for about a week. Now all of the sudden the passenger side headlight intermittently goes off. I've replaced the halogen but still have the same problems. Can anyone come to my rescue before I start up the chainsaw and turn my car car into expensive scrap metal? Thank you in advance for your help.
