Cold Starting Problem (archive)

My car has a hard time starting after it has been sitting over night. It just turns over and over and won't start. The only thing that seems to make it start is to leave the key in the run position and leave it there for a couple of minutes and then it will start no problem. Also the colder it is the worse the problem becomes. When I mean cold like only 40 degrees (thats central coast Califorina cold) I'd hate to have this car in realy cold weather it may never start.
