Suggest start by checking the battery - sounds like something electrical charging up to me, and there souldn't be any need for that apart from a low-state battery; could also be related to charging problem too. Maybe just try charging it up externally and then see if the start responsiveness improves.

Also, having the battery turn over the engine OK doesn't mean its good enough for the voltage-picky DME stuff on these beasties, either... still check it.

I personally know of no heating/pre-priming parts on the car that would require/benefit from extra "preparation time" before a start...

Cheers

Max

My car has a hard time starting after it has been sitting over night. It just turns over and over and won't start. The only thing that seems to make it start is to leave the key in the run position and leave it there for a couple of minutes and then it will start no problem. Also the colder it is the worse the problem becomes. When I mean cold like only 40 degrees (thats central coast Califorina cold) I'd hate to have this car in realy cold weather it may never start.
Thanks any help would be great.
