Maybe just a WAG, but sounds like the fuel pump is either on its way out or the check valve is letting the pressure bleed off. That would explain why it starts after turning the key on & letting it sit for a few minutes. There was a post last week on the e34 board for installing a secondary in-line check valve. Stock, it's built into the fuel pump. A good check for this would be to tap a tee into the fuel line with a gage & see if the pressure stays up after you shut the engine off.gale

My car has a hard time starting after it has been sitting over night. It just turns over and over and won't start. The only thing that seems to make it start is to leave the key in the run position and leave it there for a couple of minutes and then it will start no problem. Also the colder it is the worse the problem becomes. When I mean cold like only 40 degrees (thats central coast Califorina cold) I'd hate to have this car in realy cold weather it may never start.
Thanks any help would be great.
