The 540 has a new block. The 740 does not. I guess whatever you have never has a problem, but I guess you have the kind of cash to take it to the stealer to get it fixed. Who in their right mind would get this fixed at the stealer when you can fix it yourself?

I could of bought a new what [junk for under $30k] for the price that I paid for both of these.

I hope that it does not bother you too much that I spend a few hours a month to keep them going and nice.

If you have enough guts to purchase (2) of the biggest lemons BMW made and not sell them before they turned over 100k miles, then you should not worry about spending $500 or more for a door lock bracket assembly.

This is nothing compared to the $1000's you are going to be spending in the near future on them cars.

93 740il with 135k on it.

The door lock knob on the drivers door would not come up all the way. All the other doors fine. Had to open the back door and pull the knob up the rest of the way. Seemed like at first it was just happening in the cold. Thought it might need some lube. I took of the door panel and Look what I found.

Does anyone know if I can get this bracket by itself or the stealer is going to tell me that they only sell the whole assy?

Thanks,
kbia
