has been in for any electrical related service in the last year or two then the updated sofware was installed and the pedal code check will no longer work, only the scanners will read the codes.

I have a 1988 735i manufactured in 12/87. I have a Check Engine Light. But this procedure of stepping on the Accelerator Pedal 5 times has never worked. Can anyone else with the same make and year do this????
