If it's killing voltage regulators then I'd suspect the charging wiring between battery and alternator going open-curcuit (eg disconnecting) and voltage surge in alt. voltage regulator (from being disconnected while running) is frying the regulator.
I'd also suggest getting the battery load tested; it might be a symptom of a no-charge scenario (eg failed wiring as above) that it's so weak it can't maintain a running voltage for the car (eg radio / ABS drop out due to low voltage) but the battery could also be failing to some degree and not helping the situation.
Just mt 2c worth of what I'd check - if in doubt a good auto electrician might be safer on all the computers...

Car runs fine and the radio volume will vanish and car anti lock break light comes on. I got home and turned the car off and wont start. Battery dead. waited several hours, replaced voltage regulater and car started. Drove it again and the same thing happened. What's the problem?
