Hi Dave,

to my knowledge these engines are designed to move cars not to work as water pumps.

I don't think anybody will answer the 1 gallon bucket question.

The capacity with A/C til 9/90 was 13 liters
after 9/90 (actually the 91 model) is 15 liters.

Test pressure is 1.5 bar. Test not operating pressure.

Thermostat should be fully open after about 5 mls. This depends on the setting of the heater and the heater pump also. The real water flow could only be measured in a closed system under operating pressure and defined pump RPMs.

At 50mph in top gear the engine will make about 1600 ? RPMs.

BTW: what is the real problem? Bad heating, overheating, long time to reach operating temp, bad water pump suspected?

Regards Ekkehart
