Jim is right, go with the OEM parts. While not directly applicable, I bought the OEM Eberspracher exhaust parts for the '02. The parts are well made, fit together properly, all the welds are clean and strong, and the exhaust was specifically designed for the car. OEM parts are also a little more expensive but will also last longer. Let us know which system you buy and how it performs.

My 92 735i has 144,000 miles on it with original exhaust system, about 35,000 miles past due for being replaced, it's rotted out internally and rattles & vibrates alot.

New options I've consisdered:

1. OEM (Einspaecher?) $229/335 res/muf, dealer w/bmwcca disc
2. Supersprint s.s. 414/459 " " BMP catalog
3. unknown brand 150/180 " " " " "
(does anyone know who makes it?)
4. Bosal ? /359 " Allbmw, etc.
5. Ansa
6. Tri-flo s.s.

Anyone have experience with these or other brands? I would like quiet of stock but could live with a little louder as long as no vibration felt inside cabin. I value quiet over performance as a deciding factor. Stainless is intriguing, not to ever have to replace it again so would be worth extra cost up front, however one could replace several sets of non-stainless for about the same money.

BMW parts manager says catalytic converters on the big 6 don't need replacing very often from his experience, so will likely leave it alone.

Anyone know of better price sources?

Thanks in advance,
gale
