are you talking abot miles or kilometers ?

If its miles I would not be to surprised. On the other hand at least the front end is quite delicate on the E32s. Might have been necessary.

I calculate new rotors (always ATE) with every 2nd set of pads (40,000 km). This also depends on the time of the year. In summer I need more pads due to higher speed. BMW uses fairly soft pads so this increases wear also.

I would not compare a Probe with a 735i. Not even a 735i with a 750iL.
