I have a 1989 750i and when I drive over 120km or 70mph, the EML light comes on and I loose engine power. When I turn the car off and back on it's back to normal. Does anyone know what the problem can be?

If I remember correctly the EML is actually the 'fly by wire' system in place of (on 750s only of E32 era) your standard mechanical throttle cable/ linkage setup.
I strongly advise this to be checked by a dealer with the proper equipment - unless you are an aircraft mechanic that has had experience with these systems and know the differences / similarities with the BMW automobile version.
