My EML light came on in my 1991 735iL and I also noticed a loss in power. Additionally, my Check Engine light also came on. In my case, I had to have my Mass Air Flow Sensor replaced at a cost (work done at BMW dealer) of about $500. I recommend taking it to a dealer for a diagnosis.

I have a 89 750i and the EML light comes on after I go 70mph or 120km and I loose power. When I turn the vehicle off and back on it works normal. Does anyone know what this might be.
