Same thing happened to me. You have to change the motor. Parts are about US$100. I thought there might have been a clutch adjustment, but nope. Just the motor or the entire shade assembly.

You will find replacing the motor isn't bad. BUT(!!), they changed the drive design. The end of the motor use to be square and the new motors are more like a spline. An extra 30 minutes and be very careful. Here's where you could break the hinge.

Remove seat bottom, head rest, seat back, the two panels with the reading lamps, slide out parcel shelf. Then on a table, turn over the parcel shelf and remove the motor. Be very careful not to force the screen open or close or the hinge mechanisms will crack or break. Then it's US$250 to replace the entire shade mechanism (at least it comes with the motor installed).

The motor comes with a sheet of instructions on how to replace the motor.

Good luck....

Jim

my rear window shade works fine going from the down to the up position, but when I go from up to down it travels fine but when it reaches the bottom position the motor does not stop running, it clicks(fairly loud) for about 10 second and then stops. its just a bit annoying. Is this a relay problem or is there some type of limit switch that is not properly set?
