I have a 1988 750iL and to left of radio is a vertical dial that controls audio balance between front and back speakers for radio. Is it possible that a previous owner upgraded radio and new unit had front to rear balance built in - so installer just removed it? If so you might be able to make a black filler piece to cover hole or get repacement control even if left unused.

Hope this helps.

(not paradise by the dashboard light).

Just going through the learning curve with my 750iL.

To the immediate left of the radio, there's a hole, something missing from the dash. I looked in the owner's manual and it appears that there should be a vertical dial, similar to the one that regulates the dashboard light intensity. I see it pictured in the manual, but there is no description as to what it does. So, tell me what does this dial do? Thanks in advance for the help.
