I did this repair on my wifes 740. the Bentley manual will describe how to remove the lock assy. See the pics below.

Hi all,
I am new to this board and have a few questions on a 1990 735i that I have owned since 93. I now have 130,000 miles on what has been a great car. The drivers door lock has to be constanly reset by lifting the handle & turning the key. I have even been locked in the car & have had to open the window, instert the key into the lock to get out. I assume it's the lock solonoid/sensor in the drivers door. Any pitfalls to the repair?
Second question is a shudder in shift from 1st to 2nd. I changed the center support bearing. Is it possible the differantial mounts could be worn/broken?

Thanks,
