You said "average" but does that have a lot of town driving? The car does weigh a lot.

Of course, if it's been a while since the last system check then new oil(and filter), air filter and spark plugs, not to mention valve and CO2 tune-up, sometimes these work miracles. Also all cars seem to consume a lot more with winter tires, studded or not.
