If I'm looking to buy a 1994-2000 750IL. I've tried to read as many articles as possible out of the archives. I currently do all the work on my cars myself, so maitenance is not a huge issue, but I do like to know what I'm getting into. I'm still wondering;

Is there any major problems I should look out for?
Should I try to buy the newest year as possible or is one year stand out?
Is there anything I should have the car tested for, beyond a standard inspection?
Any problems with the V-12 like the 93-95 V-8's have?
Anything, I'm not thinking of?

Thank you both for your responses. I was wondering if the 96 got a new motor, like the V-8's did. Not to seem to ignorant, but is the E38 then 96-01 in years, and is the E32 90-95 in years? Also, what type of system is EDC or ALS? Is one better than another? Also, in the 750 models, was there different packages available, or did the car just come fully loaded?

I will start looking for the texts mentioned, thank you very much for the education.
