I removed mine about 1 year ago. it used to get hot as hell and become red, frying. so i removed the inside part of it, and i left the "shell" .
i never had problems so far, it's just makes more noise, but no big deal. i thought, what the hell! i'm not gonna spend more money in those bullshits, lets see what's gonna happen. so far so good. good luck
