Thanks Jim

I have a 91 750 and was going to order the chip next week, based on your description I would never use the power in that part of the curve. I was hoping for some help at the lower end. You just saved me $600 and the need to go to premium gas.

Question, Did you go for the 17 inch low profile tires. I have seen this mentioned many times on the board as being worthwhile.

WILL AN ENGINE CHIP, TRANSMISSION CHIP, EXHAUST, AND K&N FILTERCHARGER HELP OR HURT HP?

The answer depends on what you're looking for. Help or hurt what? Gas mileage? Peak horsepower? Real-life driveability? And are you driving a V12 or a 6?

I have all of those things on my 1993 750. Gas mileage is not affected, but now I have to run premium. Peak horsepower is up perhaps 40hp. Real-life use of the extra power is pretty much zero. Why? In the US real-like conditions doen't favor top-end speed, but low-end pick-up. All of the modifications you mention only affect top-end horsepower. Because the e-32 is very heavy, and because the rear axle ratio is low and the torque converter has a low stall speed, none of that top-end hp increase can be seen in normal driving. In fact, you won't see in until about 100 mph. How often will you see that speed or higher?
