Should be repairable, but depends who'll take it on and how much to get back to working, of course. gales' suggestions are good for the names; also junk yards for other M30 units might be OK, given you **should** be able to swap the "chip" from yours to another compatible Bosch unit - but determining the compatibility is the key. I also think that the part numbers changed with chip upgrades the dealers sometimes did (if they ever looked into the unit).

Background here is that a friend did repair the DME driver transistors on their (older) BMW - the problem was getting past all the goop (potting compound) they can use on assembly, and then still getting a legible part number for the components under that... not a job for the inexperienced or those lacking persistence was the major impression.
