You need to get the VIN from the body - it's visible when you lift the hood, in the middle of the firewall at the bottom of the windscreen. Look at the plastic tray around the wipers - there are two rectangles, each have a number/code stamped in them. Note them down - you want the last 6 digits (no letters) from one of them... use an online VIN decoder to identify the car, this ill give the build date too (YY/mm).

Best one (i use) is offline at moment but maybe someone else can suggest another... maybe just post the numbers here and someone can run their ETK parts cdrom and check it there too...


I am planning to buy a used E32 735 BMW but I think the dealer is lying about the year of make. How can I determine it on my own??
