Many of these repairs are relatively simple for even a modestly experienced 'Do It Yourselfer' (DIY). To get an idea of what might be involved, use the archive feature on this site and search for the appropriate keyword and read up on it.
For example, the interior lights could be as simple as a switch in the wrong position. The language issue is a simple matter of pushing a button on the dash (a little over simplified). The twisted seat syndrome is discussed at length in the archives with at least 2 - 3 solutions available. Give it a go. Good Luck

'88 750iL

I just recently bought a 88 735i.The car drives great. However I am having trouble with all the interior electronics. For instance the interior lights don't come on, the fault monitor in between my speedometer and rev meter speaks German, and now my power seats. The driver doesn't work at all and my passenger side is all twisted. I took it into a couple of local electrical shops to get an estimate on the total cost to repair everything. They shook their heads gave a grim look and said they couldn't give me an estimate because it's such a terrible state.They didn't even want to touch it. So they smiled and wished me best of luck. I love the way my car drives, but am I doomed to have terrible interior. Does any one know where in Los Angeles, I can get it all repaired for a fair price? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
