It may be a start to finding a fix ...it appears that some early E32's are plagued by dashboard problems due to weak capacitors in the dash's circuit board display. Good news is that it's not a difficult job and the capacitors don't cost very much. You might want to search the E38 and E34 archives as well...not to long ago I saw pics that someone took that indicated where the caps were located on the back of the circuit board...sorry I forgot where I saw the pics. Good luck.

Hi All,

I own a '88 735iL European model, and lately i have some electrical problems in the dashboard, sometimes the display from the computer dims, and very strange the km-counter stopped at 299960 km , a number i've seen before on a used car, but i can't imagine every car stops at that setting.

Is there someone who can give me a hint or a link to find some solutions ?
