730SEi intensive screen wash glitch (archive)

The intensive screen wash (pressing the control stalk in) will only work if the pump motor for the smaller tank is taken out of circuit. Mmm I though, a duff motor?, but no,
the motor itself works fine when removed and connected to a 12v power source.
It pumped water merrily across the kitchen when I tested it, much to my surprise! The disconnected connector shows voltage present when activated. Ideas ?
