Anyone have suggestions on how to get to the light bulbs in the rear passenger door ashtray to change them? I can see the wire and bulb when I remove the ash tray but can't figure how to get to them. Also how do you remove the rear passenger door power window switches to change the bulbs in them, too? I had no problem getting to the bulb in the rear cigarette/cigar lighter...it was a piece of cake. I'm sure they all will need to be soldered in like the other bulbs I've already replaced.Q

The bulbs in the ashtray are just simply a pain. You can get at them easiest with patience and a pointy-nose pliers that has the bend in them.
The switches on the door for the windows are able to be pried out with a very small screwdriver or the like and then the top just lifts off. There is no need to remove the door trim.
You are correct in assuming that these are soldered in. The ashtray ones are not.
At least this is the case in my 1988 750il. I have replaced all of these bulbs myself.
Cheers,
Brian P.
