Alex- I just bought my first bimmer and it happened to be a 750il so I'm gonna be a little biased but before this I have owned nothing but 5.0 Mustang(for the last eight years)and I can tell you that I don't miss the power and torqe of my past stang and kids don't come up to me 5 times a day now to see if I want to race. I love Mustangs but I like am beginning to think that I should have bought a V12 bimmer a long time ago. Bobby is right though especially in my case because my car does look like a pimps car because of the rims I guess. I'm working of getting different rims.

Well, it's finally time to retire my twenty year-old Chevrolet daily driver (my significant other drives the 735i on a regular basis). I have been looking at 93-94 five-speed 325i E36s but, with all the talk recently about the turbine-smooth 750iL, it is possible to pick up a 91-92 750iL for about the same cost, usually with less miles. I did drive a couple of 750iLs before buying the 735i four years ago but the potential maintenance costs scared me. I really want to drive a stick-shift again on a daily basis but the 750iL does have the 12-cylinder appeal.

So, what does the collective think? A 91-92 750iL or a 93-94 325i (or a close-ratio five-speed and a REALLY nice paint job for the '02)?

no, I don't want to mention the Chevy

"So, what does the collective think?"

This is one drone that thinks there is just no comparison or going back once you've crossed the 'normal zone' into the 'v-12' quadrant.
The independent mechanic that first showed me the 750 I now own said: "the 12's are in a class of their own".
And I totally agree.
Cheers,
Brian P.
(drive long and prosper?).
