Yes, the drivers side is set at 76 and I still have the problem. If I move the passenger temp. dial all the way hot, or all the way cold I still keep getting the same temp air out of the passenger side dash vents (cold with the A/C on and neutral with the A/C off). However when I move it all the way to hot position hot air will blow from the foot area (while cold continues to blow out the passenger side dash vents).

When we first tried to solve the problem we discovered the vent flap motors were out of sequence and as a result had come off thier mounts. I thought we had fixed this, but am now wondering if this problem still persists. I'm afraid the real problem might be the IHKA control unit.

Thanks for your note. Desperate for any other suggestions you or anyone else may have.

Sure you haven't overridden the passenger side dial with the drivers (being on full hot or full cold)...

Max

I own a 1988 735i and am experiencing problems with the temp. control on the passenger side. The driver side works fine, but any movement of the temp. control dial on the passenger side has no effect at all on the temp. of the air coming out of the ducts on the passenger side dash (cold with the A/C on, and neutral with it off). I recently replaced the board in the control panel assembly, thinking the dial switch was bad but this didn't help. Any thoughts or suggestions would be very welcomed.
