You know, with an incident of that type, you should have contacted the athorities right away. They would be reponsible for the repairs to your car. You should have taken pictures of that hole you hit, the damaged rim/tire, noted the blinking SRS, and everything else. I know, shoulda, woulda, coulda, but maybe it's not too late. I don't know. But things like that, you really should take the time to document, contact the proper authorities, in this case the state DOT, and took pictures of the damage. There is a *really* good chance that this pothole has already been called in, so call the Michigan DOT, tell them what happened, and go from there. Someone on the board may know more than I do about this, but but 'potholes' are a given on roads, but the one thay you mention is not. It should have been marked, it should have been repaired, and I think the repairs should be covered. Maybe take a look see. This way you pay no deductibles, or at least DOT reimburses you for them.
