buying '88 735i manual - advice needed (archive)

Hey all!

Should I buy an '88 735i manual for $3600? Mileage approx 150K miles (300 000 km).
I know that you have heard the question at least dozen times before, but still... I read all the archives on this topic, but maybe you have something else to add. I will go and check the car tomorrow.

I currently have an E28 520i '85 and I really love everything about it - it just is a bit too slow... :)
I am happy with the maintenance costs of my current car (BMW dealer) - will the 735i be a more expensive car?

If you know any good links to internet sites with any information about ~'88 735i they will be very welcome (languages: english, german, russian)!

Is the engine powerful enough for the car? How much gas it consumes?
