I found that even when the car is occupied with driver only (yep...that's me!) the "full load" recommended tire pressure works way better than the standard. I.e., for my E32 735i 2.7 Front 3.2 Rear works much better...better steering response, less "sluggishness", nimbler handing...

According to the manual:

Cold tires (same as outside temperature)

normal load: four persons or less
heavy load: five persons and / or luggage

730i:
normal load 2,2 bar front / 2,6 bar rear
heavy load 2,5 bar front / 3,0 bar rear

735i and iL:
normal 2,3 / 2,7 bar
heavy 2,7 / 3,2 bar

750i and iL:
normal 2,7 / 3,0
heavy 2,9 / 3,3

The tire size makes no difference, in the manual there were at least 4 different tire setups on each model but the same pressure.

Henkka
2 x 225/40/17
2 x 255/40/17
4 x 205/65/15 studded

about 3 bars on each one of them
