One easy way to check if your calipers are sticking without getting your hands dirty is, if you still feel safe driving your car, to drive it, carefully, and as soon as you feel the shimmy, pull over, check both fronts to see if they are giving off heat. You'll soon find the one/s sticking although DON'T just place your hand straight on the wheel, if they are sticking/overheating, they'll be effing hot!!! There will possibly be a strong smell of burning (asbestos, don't ask me to describe) also. I had all this on a '91 Ford Granada Scorpio (I'm in the UK). When they finally gave in, I found that driving was fine until you braked. First the car would pull slightly to the opposite side to the stuck caliper, which got worse each time. Once I pulled away, no probs, but as I approached 50mph I had a horrendous, violent shaking of the steering wheel. A genuine "She cannie take no more, Captain" moment. Finally the wheel locked up and the whole car slew off the road. V.Frightening. Fried the discs so I needed both front calipers & discs replacing!
