what several of the guys suggested; try on some other wheels (of which you know they won't shimmy on the vehicle they're from)???

I'm sure any 500-series or 700-series driver will be glad to assist by interchanging the wheels with you and then both of you taking a ride around the block.

at least all e28, e34, e32 and e38 wheels will fit; including the M5 conversions and such.

So do the swap first so you know where the problem is. If it's the rims then go and raise some hell at the rim shop for not giving you the correct spacers - and yeah, I would NOT be caught driving around with NYLON stuck between my rim.

The 17" M5 wheels looked real funny on my friends 1986 e28 524td on standard springs; the car looked like an offroad vehicle!
