mine did something similar once...check the key itself...it probably got worn enough or somehow boogered so it doesn't quite want to engage the cylinder.

Need help with dianosing this problem, My ignition cylinder is stuck in the 0 position. It only turns enough to unlock the steering column. Anything after that seems to be blocked. My car does start through the remote start unit so I'm guesing I have no problem with the starter. Something in the Ignition cylinder???
