Should be on the same side - it stays the same for LHD or RHD, just like the spare wheel well doesn't move...

Fuel filters are down by the tank, accessible under the right rear wheel arch on RHD cars. I've always depressurised the EFI systems on my vehicles by removing the fuel pump fuse & running the engine until it stalls...

Planning to do semi annual fluid changes to my 88 735i and was wondering about the location of the fuel filter. In addition is it necessary to change the fuel pressure regulator as often [the one located on top of the engine right beside the top radiator hose]? Also how do I de-pressurize the fuel system before removing the fuel filter?
