I definately need a hook since I'm selling my Touring and still need to haul stuff. Has anyone installed a hook by themselves? What do you need to know? One can't steal from the existing tail lights because then one would be having "broken lightbulb" messages till the kingdom come so is there a plug somewhere?

I know a detachable-ball hook was available as an OEM device and there is a hatch in the middle underneathe the rear bumper for it; in other words it will be hidden until you need it. (cool idea Bimmer engineers)

I want to hook up a light trailer to my 88 735i. Does anyone know the wiring sequence ? or can offer any help. Thanks in advance. This is a basic snowmobile type trailer
