If you could get the info, I would like to know what colors the lft and right inputs are to the amp, or even a wiring diag of the system. (Bentley is on the way)

I plan on doing a full blown upgrade (probably along the lines of Henkka's suggestions) but right now my beloved e32 has more important issues that need my time and $$.

For now, I just need an inexpensive and simple fix. I have no tunes and sending the fact radio to be r/b makes no sense--esp when I have a perfectly good Alpine head unit I can use.
