I ordered my radio and CD player from (SW Stereo Specialists 1-800-270-BEST). They advertise in the BWM "Roundel" They sell Blaupunkt. They ask me a few question about my stock radio setup. From that they make up a custom cable harness for the new head unit and CD changer for the trunk. I was able to plug the new cable harness into the stock wiring with not modification at all. I then run the CD cable back to the trunk for the CD Player.

I am using the stock amp and speakers. I can not believe the different the new radio and CD makes. I have a much better stock amp and speakers then I though I had.

I know that this topic has probably been beaten to death, but I want to replace the factory radio in my 88 750il.
I would like to keep using the factory amp and speakers (until I can later afford to replace).

I called crutchfield, and they said that I would have to buy one of their adaptors, to connect the radio to the fact. system. Adaptor would connect the factory amp to the speaker level outs on the new head unit.

Couldn't I just use the RCA pre outs on the new head unit to connect to the factory system? (I think that they are 4v preouts) and save S40.00?

Has anyone done this? I searched the archives, and could not find anything on this specifically.

Any help appreciated- Thanks
