I have noticed more oil leaks since switching to Mobil 1 15-50 in my 1990 750iL (79k miles). The car ran Castrol Syntech 5-50 for the past few years without leaks at all. (I would only get an ocassional drip at the back of the valve cover.) With the Mobil 1, I have a bigger leak at the valve cover and a new leak at the timing chain cover. I will switch to conventional Castrol 20-50 at the next change.

Have you noticed any increase in Oil consumption or leaking since you switched to Synthetic. Do you change your oil every 3000 miles or do you have a longer interval now that you've switched to Syn?
