Is there one for each pad, i.e. 8 in total, or one on each wheel? Is there a quick way to identify which is triggering the obc warning? Is there a measureable pad thickness to verify if they are on the limit?

I think I may have a faulty sensor, knowing that new front pads were fitted 6k miles ago and that the rears were supposed to have been verified as OK at the same time. The dealer could of course have been lying as it was on his warranty and maybe 6k miles gives reasonable wear on such a heavy car.
