Maybe you can find something usefull at HomeOfSBC. I seem to recall seeing a page where somebody did a step-by-step with lots of good pictures, procedure on disassembling the HVAC. Shouldn´t be that hard though. JUst take it out, unplug the 3-4 wires on the back of it and start unscrewing all screws on it ;) The HVAC is cliped into the dash on the left side, and somebody gave me a good tip of getting at the clip from the headunit (stereo) opening from the back to avoid destroying the HVAC clip.
