Here's the deal: the outer (black nylon) tube needs to be shortened by about 3/8". The method Stu is refering to is to cut a segment out of it anywhere along it's length. A razor will work fine, you don't have to worry about accidently cutting the inner drive cable, it's metal. Then you would cut about a 1" or 2" piece of gas line or other suitable hose & and hoseclamp it to join the sections of the tube back together, or duct tape might also do for a splice. This way you don't have to mess with getting the crimped metal end out of the motor bracket.

I think they must have two or more designs for the way the motors mount to the brackets. Mine only has two screws on each end but I've read in the archives about removing "three" screws to get the cable end out. I'm not sure how that setup works.
