Axel,

Here I am trying to help you, and you give me this kind of response. Are you serious? Why don't you research the archives and check your own website in order to refresh your memory on what my responses have been to your posts. I have been very fair, and quite frankly have given a great deal more thought to your car's problems than I probably should have. If you want to have any serious dialogue on this issue at all, you can begin my retracting the suggestion that I have personally responded to you with unfair, immature, or inane posts.

My offer was serious, and an extremely generous one at that, as I would be having your car evaluated at my own expense, not to mention making use of a great deal of my own valuable time.

To blow me off with your casual "Ya", exemplifies immaturity, Axel . . . or whatever your name is.

Do you really think that I believe that the sole reason you don't want me or anyone else looking at your car is the uncertainty as to whom you could trust? How about the uncertainty as to what could be discovered about your car? I think that's what worries you.

You blindly trust your car to a few dealer mechanics whom you never personally meet at the cost of thousands of dollars, yet you scoff at the idea of having a person or two with brains and extensive 750iL experience look at your car for free. I'm incredulous.

And since you still didn't answer my question about your dealer, it is perfectly clear that the answer is that you are indeed continuing to take your car to the same dealer. I know you can't answer why, because is no good answer.
Just because a dealer is licensed by BMW does not mean that it's filled to the brim with Ph.D. engineers who carefully evaluate your car. Just because a physician is officially licensed by the medical board, does not mean he's brilliant and can figure out all of your problems and won't forget to take the sponge and retractors out before he sutures you back together.

If you're sincere about searching for a good independent mechanic who specializes in BMWs then you're heading in the right direction.

If you're prepared to realize that your used car would have been in better hands with a professional racecar driver who knew how to take care of a car than it was with your architect friend who you defend as being mild-mannered, then you're heading in the right direction.

Axel, this forum is for BMW enthusiasts who love their cars, treat their cars well, want to know how to treat them better, who look for advice on repair issues or upgrades, and to just generally shoot the breeze about their cars. This forum is not for people who want to periodically whine about how their car keeps breaking down and hoping to elicit sympathy or invite arguments.
If you are interested seeking useful advice on how to deal with your car, such as help in looking for a good independent mechanic in your area, that's exactly what this forum is for, and I'm sure someone from your area will be absolutely glad to help you. But if your intention is simply to complain, we're just not interested and you would be wise to refrain.

Axel, your big contention has no merit. There are so many potential factors at work here, so many variables, there's no way you can begin to blame your problems on BMW. Maybe you flog your car every day -- probably not. Maybe Mr. Architect wasn't straight with you -- probably. Maybe the dealer has been screwing you over royally -- absolutely -- not only have they been extremely careless in maintaning your car, they're also B.S.'ing you for stuff you really don't even need to have done.

Your would be able to lend yourself a great deal more credibility in your arguments if you took any effort to understand how your car works and if you took your car to at least one other shop (independent) for a look-over.

I hereby withdraw my offer. I'm sorry, but I can no longer take you seriously. I doubt you would change your mind anyway.
I wish you luck with your car and in life, because it seems clear that you will need it for both.

Jason Ferguson

After the flogging I have received by this board, the unfair, immature, inane posts, you want me to give you my car too?

Ya.

While there is definitely some intelligent life on this board, it's a little difficult for me to determine whom among you I would trust with my car. Because of that uncertainty, I think I'll just hold onto it, but thanks for the idea. I will let you know if I change my mind.
