Hennka, based on your description, I'm wondering whether I'm getting all the power to my tires that I should be seeing. I know your car is a V12, but I would think I could break my tires loose with my V8. Painting stripes has never been an option. I have 15" Yokohama AVS dB tires but I would think a 740 should be able to spin those as well. Even if I punch my accelerator with ASC off, the car starts crisply but will not spin the tires. The car acts as if it has turbo lag. I recently added LSD and it starts the same (see my posting on addition of a new differential). Do you know if this lag at the very start is normal or does something related to throttle response need adjustment? Do you hold your brakes to get the rpm's up before launching?

... How come my nickname is so difficult to Americans? One N and double K ... Well, to the point:

I run 255/40/17 rear tires that make burnout next to impossible. Only if I floor it when I'm turning 90 degrees I can break the wheels loose and waste my expensive tires by drawing black line on the pavement.

If I start off straight there is NO WAY that the rear wheels will spin unless it's real rainy or there is plenty of sand on top of the tarmac.

My winter setup is 205/something/15 with studded Nokia Hakkapeliitta tires (superb grip) and with those it will easily burn rubber upon acceleration (although I try not to since it's very bad for the studs) since the spikes are sliding on the pavement and the wheels are tremendously narrower to begin with.

Don't worry, tour car is likely okay: if it doesn't burn rubber but accelerates like a bat out of hell then that is just a fine example of German engineering. Spinning tires won't accelerate your car but will cost a bundle.

ps: naturally LSD will make it even harder for your system since now it would have to spin both rear wheels simultaneously :-D

ps2: No, I never press gas and brake simultaneously. Exept if I'm sitting in traffic light next to a friend of mine and I want to "wiggle my car's tail" up and down... Shouldn't do that either...
