Looks like these symptoms are not related, but I can be wrong.

These are all the ground with location:

G 100 left front of eng. compartment
G 101 right as above
G 103 below left rear seat
G 105 below left rear seat
G 110 below left side of dash
G 117 right rear of eng compartment
G 119 right rear of eng compartment
G 202 below left side of dash
G 204 below left rear seat
G 303 below right rear seat
G 304 below left rear seat

Since the servotronic is using ground 202 on all models and the horns use G 110 (left horn only) on some models or G 102 I did not find a common ground. Besides that the wiring and usage of ground varies very much with year and model. It is well known that the E32 has problems with electrical grounds. So to find the ground terminals and check same and retighten them is not a bad idea. Must admit have not done it myself. The above info is from the Bentley.
