Gilbert, thanks for the info... I think that my mechanic has found the same problem. He mentioned a ground to the Firewall that was corroded. He did not charge me for a replacement so I'm not sure what was done about it, although he indicated that it had been resolved.

Mine did the same thing, left me stranded a few weeks ago. After complete tune, oxygen sensors, etc., the mechanic traced it to a connector (?) on/below the firewall. He said it was corroded and, when it became hot, would start losing connection, and it was a common ground for several things, including the o2 sensor, so it kept thinking it was running lean. He's not much of a talker and the car was out in the lot by then, so I'm not sure exactly where it was, but he had the wires unbundled from the ebox down. Wish I could be more help.
Good luck.

1990 750iL

I have an 88 750IL that has been in the shop for the past 3 months. The car will starts and runs fine from cold... but after running for a while the left bank begins to run very rich. The mechanic has given up. He has replaced the oxygen sensors. Then he replaced other parts in the car with parts from a 750 that runs fine (including the engine control units). Still the left bank of the engine runs rich (seeming not to run at all). He synchonized the throttles also (evidently doing this on a 750 is a unique process).

So after 3 months in the shop, I have the car back with no clue how to get it fixed.

Can anyone help?
