FYI - happened to be looking at service bullitens for my '88 750iL and found one that reads:
COMPONENT: Steering
SUMMARY: Noinse from Steering Shaft
Caused by shaft turning inside boot where shaft passes through engine compartment bulkhead. Push boot toward bulkhead and apply coat of BMW lube P/N 81-22-9-407-566 to shaft.

My steering wheel makes sqeeky noise when I turn. Is this simple WD-40 Solution or do I need to disassemble and look for something else?
Thanks for your help.!!
