For those of you with a '91 or later 750iL, I'd like to know for reference what your RPM's are at 70mph/113kph in the highest gear/lockup. The '91 and later models were fitted from the factory with the 3.64 differential.
My '90 with the 3.15 sits at about 2000rpm at 70mph/113kph.
I'd like to know what the difference is between the two differentials.

Thanks.

Greg Kovecses from the E38 site was kind enough to send me an Excel spreadsheet that allows you to enter your gear ratios, tire size, tire ratio, and wheel size; then enter various final drive ratios to see the impact on speed versus rpm. If you like, I can email it to you. Although theoritical, I found it very accurate. Speed vs RPM is predicatble.

By the way, I just finished changing my 2.93 differential to a 3.73 in my 93 740iL and added LSD with a 50% lockup. The only negative I've noticed is additional gear whine at certain cruising speeds.
